Our Amazing Staff
Our teachers are highly qualified educators with training, experience and education in Early Childhood. They provide an environment of trust, care, respect and individuality for each child.
Our dedicated teachers promote self-esteem in our children by providing developmentally appropriate activities that are initiated by the children themselves.
We select our teachers carefully and require all of our staff to further their professional development and attend professional conferences and workshops. All employees are CPR and First Aid Certified.
Ms. Bonnie - Lead Teacher, Red Room
I am the Lead teacher in the Red Room. I believe that each child is a unique individual. I believe in creating a caring and nurturing atmosphere and foster each child’s creativity and positive self-image.
Not only do I want to encourage learning, but also the love of learning. My goals are to help facilitate the development of creative thinkers, problem solvers, self-confident and independent beings who will grow up to be caring, happy, and productive young adults.
Ms. Cynthia - Lead Teacher, Blue Room
My name is Cynthia Moreno and I am the Teacher in the Blue Room. I believe that my job as an educator is to truly understand the children’s needs in all of the developmental domains.
My philosophy of being a good teacher is that we have to continue learning as we teach. It is important to always examine our teaching methods and learn new ones over time.
I believe children are always exposed to various learning experiences and teachers should be able to give children the opportunity to show their creativity as they exhibit their individuality at all times.
I love creating a great learning environment that is essential to a child’s development and setting up the classroom to the children’s best ability to explore. I’m a strong believer that children learn through play and hands on learning experiences.
I’m currently working on my Bachelor’s Degree. I received my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Santa Monica College. I am First Aid/CPR certified.
As I continue to further my education and professional growth in the Early Childhood field, not only will I be teaching but I will also be a learner, because as educators we never stop learning.
Ms. Elizabeth - Lead Teacher, Yellow Room
My name is Elizabeth Hernandez and I am the Lead Teacher in the Yellow Room at Beginnings Learning Center.
I believe every child is unique. All children deserve the opportunity to learn in ways that make the most of their strengths to help them overcome their weaknesses.
I believe children learn best through play. They construct and acquire knowledge through playful interactions with the physical and social world and acknowledging and utilizing the role of play in the development of children, allows for children to be curious, creative, inventive and imaginative.
I believe in creating a healthy, trustworthy and caring environment that encourages development in all developmental domains.
I am currently attending Santa Monica College to receive my A.A in Early Childhood Education. I have earned a Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education. I am First aid and CPR certified.

I feel that children should be given the necessary tools early on in order to succeed in the future.
I worked for the LAUSD for 4 years in their after school program. I’ve also worked as a Nanny and I’ve had the opportunity to work with Children with Special Needs. I completed Child Development courses at West Los Angeles College, which have put me on this path to be able to work with children.
Ms. Rachel - Yellow Room

Children are my passion, so I am very fortunate to work at such a wonderful school that fosters the teaching philosophy that I believe works best, which is learning through play.
Using this philosophy, it is my goal to provide every child with opportunities to improve their skills in all four learning domains in a safe, loving and nurturing environment.

Ms. Rosie - Yellow Room
Hi my name is Rosie Cayetano. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I have worked with children for about 5 years through volunteering in various centers and schools, as well as baby sitting. I am currently a student at SMC, and I am working on obtaining my AA in Early Childhood Education, I also plan on obtaining a BA in Child Development.
I have always had a passion for working with children and watching them grow and experience new things. I believe that children learn best through the use of play because it teaches them to interact with the world around them allowing them to develop their imagination, cognitive skills, and social/emotional development.
I am also a single mother to a 2 year old daughter. On our free time we like to go to the beach and the pier, we enjoy swimming together and taking long walks around our neighborhood.
My name is Betty Valdez. I obtained my Associate’s degree in Liberal arts and Behavioral Sciences from Santa Monica College. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree at Cal State Long Beach to further my knowledge in Early Childhood Education. My hobbies are hiking and listening to music. I have six siblings; two sisters and four brothers.
Prior to working at Beginnings Learning Center, I provided care to infants and toddlers by visiting their homes. Even though my interest in teaching children started only a few years ago, I have decided to dedicate most of my time to children and be part of their growth. I think in fact that the early years of children are simply the most amazing years in which educators can be part of children’s development. I enjoy every aspect of teaching and have realized that children teach us as much as we teach them.
I am a big fan of psychologist Lev Vygotsky for his theory about sociocultural Cognitive Development which is relevant for educators working with children of diverse backgrounds. I have been employed at BLC for a year and I absolutely love it. Beginnings Learning Center is a great place for a child to begin their journey.
I am very glad to be a part of such a passionate team who always provides the best care and nurture for each of our students.
